WORKING
WITH ADC
My objective is to provide quality communications materials
that meet or exceed your expectations. Although every
client situation is unique, here’s a general idea
of how we’ll work together on a writing project:
- First, we’ll meet – at no cost to you
– to discuss your project in depth and to enable
me to obtain an overall understanding of your organizational
and communications objectives.
- After preparing a project quote and receiving your
written authorization for work to begin, I will undertake
any required research, review available background
materials, conduct interviews if necessary and prepare
and submit a first draft.
- Once you’ve had a chance to review the first
draft, we’ll meet (or chat via phone) to discuss
your feedback and comments. I’ll then make any
necessary edits and submit a second draft of the document
for review. If necessary, we can repeat the review
process to ensure the completed document meets your
needs and achieves your communications objectives.
- Once edits are complete, I’ll provide a final
version of the document via e-mail, hard copy and/or
disk.
Here are some tips to help you get the best value
for your communications dollar:
- To obtain a thorough understanding of your organization
and project, I’ll ask a lot of questions, particularly
in our early meetings. Please provide as much detailed
information as you can. Rest assured that everything
you share with me will be maintained in confidence.
And while I may not use all the information you provide,
these additional details will help me to create a
more effective finished product.
- If I capture your exact vision on the first draft,
fantastic! If not, please feel free to provide honest
feedback. I won’t be offended if you want to
make changes or edits. I’ll provide input, guidance
and my professional opinion as appropriate, but in
the end, you must be satisfied with the result.
- To ensure the most efficient use of time and budget,
I will ask you to designate a key contact for the
project. While I’m happy to work with all team
members as needed, it’s vital that I have one
individual to whom I can go for timely information
and answers.
